California Crash Leaves 4 Injured

Police report that a car accident that occurred in San Diego on Aug. 21 caused injuries to four people. The accident reportedly took place around 9:30 a.m. when a man lost control of his vehicle.

According to the authorities in San Diego, the car crash occurred when a 44-year-old man driving a BMW sedan crossed the median and hit two other vehicles after losing control of the car in a curve on Nautilus Road. The vehicle then hit a light pole and overturned. A witness reported that he had also gone through two red lights just prior to the crash. Police suspected the man of driving under the influence.

The female driver of an SUV that was hit and her two passengers were injured in the crash. They were taken to area hospitals for treatment of minor injuries. The driver who allegedly caused the accident was trapped in his vehicle and had to be rescued by personnel from San Diego Fire Rescue. He suffered a foot injury and was also transported to an area hospital for treatment. Emergency responders had to exercise additional caution while extricating him because the car came to rest on power lines.

In cases where one driver's actions seem to be negligent and reckless, an injured victim might consider filing a personal injury claim. Evidence of a driver's negligent and reckless behavior can include witness statements, police investigation reports, blood tests and any charges filed against the driver. If a plaintiff's personal injury claim is successful, the individual could be awarded compensation for accident-related expenses such as medical bills, property damage and time missed from work due to physical harm suffered.
