California Man Seriously Injured In Car Collision

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 25-year-old pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver in Brookdale on Nov. 18. The victim was crossing the street at the time of the accident.

The California Highway Patrol says that the victim was transported by air to a nearby medical facility, where he was treated for serious, unspecified injuries. The collision occurred at approximately 6:05 p.m. The victim was in the crosswalk of Highway 9 at the juncture of Clear Creek Road. According to witnesses, the driver was travelling southward in a silver SUV or station wagon and collided with the victim. The driver allegedly drove away after the accident. The California Highway Patrol say that the vehicle sustained major frontal damage and urged local residents to report any suspicious vehicles to the authorities.

Occasionally, pedestrians are injured after being hit by a car. While this is an unfortunate circumstance, the good news is that a personal injury lawyer can help a victim seek the remuneration he or she needs for medical care and other injury-related expenses. A pedestrian in a crosswalk who is hit by a car has a good chance of being held not responsible for the accident.

Enlisting the aid of a personal injury lawyer is an effective strategy to ensure that the person responsible will pay for the damages. Personal injury lawyers are adept at gathering any available data and presenting it to the court in such a fashion that the plaintiff receives all the compensation he or she deserves. In cases such as the one above, it is very likely that the driver would be found liable for the accident. If a driver fails to stop and render aid after being involved in an accident, he or she would be violating state law.
