Attorney Larry E. Cook Weighs in on Lawsuit Against Los Perales Elementary School Teacher
Casper, Meadows, Schwartz & Cook

Attorney Larry E. Cook of Casper, Meadows, Schwartz & Cook is currently representing the family of a student who had duct tape placed over his mouth twice by a teacher at Los Perales Elementary School in Moraga. Larry recently gave an interview to ABC7 News on the incident.

“He didn’t do anything that justifies any treatment of this nature,” Mr. Cook states in the interview. He goes on to explain that the student, then an 11-year-old fifth grader, had tape placed over his mouth by the teacher in front of the class, and on the second occasion within one month was made to place tape over his own mouth. The teacher then told students not to talk about what happened. “This teacher told the students, and had apparently made this statement on other occasions as well, that what occurred in this classroom stayed in the classroom.”

The teacher was placed on leave last year but is now back in the classroom. The student is now attending a different school. Casper, Meadows, Schwartz & Cook will be working vigorously to ensure that justice is served in this matter.
