San Francisco Musician Injured in Hit and Run

Casper, Meadows, Schwartz & Cook

A popular San Francisco DJ was recently the victim of a hit-and-run accident in the Ingleside neighborhood. The 41-year-old musician suffered severe injuries when he was struck by a motor vehicle while riding his bicycle.

It can be difficult enough to recover damages when the victim of an accident knows the identity of the driver who caused the accident. When a driver not only causes an accident by driving negligently or recklessly, but also flees the scene of the crash, it can put the victim in an even more difficult situation.

This accident left the musician hospitalized and requiring surgery. He had a broken pelvis, and what was described by local news reports as a "shattered" left side. He also had gashes on his head that required stitches and suffered "road rash," that is a serious abrasion to the skin from sliding across pavement.

The injured musician's friends and other local musicians have begun to organize fundraisers to help defray the cost of his medical expenses (more information on the fundraisers available at the link below). In some hit-and-run situations the victim's own insurance may be an option to help pay for medical expenses. But this process can at times be frustrating and complicated.

If you have been injured by a hit-and-run driver, it is important to consult with a San Francisco personal injury attorney who has experience dealing with these types of accidents. Victims of accidents deserve to be able to focus on rehabilitating and recovering their health rather than having to worry about how they will pay their hospital bills.
